Saturday becomes Sunday becomes Monday…

This is my Saturday Rap where I give site updates and the best links of the week… except today its’ on Monday. 😉

First, the site update…

Two things…

First, I have upgraded my theme. It might not seem like much, but it’s a lot of behind the scenes stuff for me. And it reminds me how much time it took to set the first one up. Sheesh!

In any case, I have a lot more control over the design and yes a new design is coming although it won’t be as major a change as I thought. I’m kind of enjoying my current design.

Second, I am once again hosting the carnival of personal development next week. Monday to be exact. I am excited to have it back again. Please consider submitting something. Also, please read the rules on the link above…

Now, here’s the links…

I actually only have one for you this week, but believe me when I say it’s a ton of reading.

Free Personal Development Ebooks.

Peter at the Change blog has taken the time to list as many free ebooks as he could find. If you aren’t familar with an ebook it is simply a PDF (Adobe Reader) file that is easy to read and print out. I have only read a few of these ebooks, but I am sure they are all worth checking out!

Happy Monday!

Cheers,

Jeremy

  1. Jeremy!

It has been a long time my friend. I love the new look, it is easier on the eyes. I know I have not been posting or commenting lately, but you are still in my RSS Reader and I have been keeping up with things here. Great work over the last few months.

Good luck with your blog carnival. I am sure it will go as well as your previous ones did.

This winter has been pretty… non-existent hasn’t it? Everything is blooming already, it is nuts. I have been waiting for a huge snow for so long!

I am going to be attending the Art Institute of Colorado starting in April. I am going to be studying web design. I can’t wait! Hope you are doing well, just wanted to say hello.

  2. I’m expecting you won’t receive any constructive criticism so I’ll give you some!

I certainly have some work to do on my own blog but I want to point to the fact that too many choices will lead to indecision.

The left margin of your blog must have more than 50 different links to content. Under “Most Popular,” why do you need so many posts?

In the right margin, how can you claim to have so many “Hot Topics?”

Now for the positive remarks: I like your banner design and your overall design is much less noisy than most blogs I’ve seen.

Remember that your most valued reader will come for the content — your writing. Everything else is fluff…

    Less is more.

    Keep up the good work…

    Cheers…

  3. @ Jack – Wow, it has been a long time! Glad to know you are still alive! Glad to hear you are going back to school. Web design would probably be right up your alley. Keep me posted on how things are going in your life!

    @ Roger – Thanks!

@ Kent – I am glad I can always depend on you to give some good constructive criticism. 😉 I must say I agree with you and haven’t done them more out of laziness. So I finally got over my laziness and did them. Thanks for the extra push!

@ Daphne – I tweak endlessly. I am never truly satisfied. Yet, I know we need to keep our focus on writing quality content and marketing our blogs if that is what we desire.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy
