Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi All,

I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families. I am very grateful to have you as my readers, and I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to read this. 😉

Have you started thinking about what you are thankful for this holiday season?

This is a great time of reflection for me. In fact, the whole winter season is a big time of reflection for me. Especially New Years as I think about what I have accomplished this year, and what I would like to accomplish next.

However, right now, I feel it is best to think about the gifts I have been given. Things that I have not gone out and gained myself, but what life has given to me without even trying…

One of the main things I was given was the wonderful family I have. Being far away from my family magnifies that even more. I hear about all the things they are doing and wish I could join them. They are truly a blessing in my life…

I am also blessed with my girlfriend. She is a sweetheart, and still loves me on my worst days. For that I am truly grateful.

I am thankful for all the friends that I count in this life. Both near and far, here and gone… I am learning that friends can bring a lot of joy, but also a lot of pain… In fact all relationships do, especially for someone like me, who is very independent and likes to argue a point… However, our friends are the ones who define us. Who help us grow and become the people we are meant to become… For that I am also truly grateful…

I am grateful for the fact that I was born and raised in the U.S. And to be born in this time and age… While everything has it’s positives and negatives, I am grateful for the opportunity to have so many choices in life. For the many abilities given to us by way of our wealth and technology. And for the opportunity to truly design a life of my own making. Not all societies afford each of us that opportunity, and I am grateful to have the ability to afford it.

Again, I am thankful that I can easily afford a roof over my head, food to eat, and the creature comforts of this life. So I may more easily pursue what many would call the finer things in life. Knowledge, wisdom, education, arts, sciences, music, culture, food, etc… From all corners of the planet. I have the ability to go and partake in anything I desire, if only in small amounts and for short periods of time.

With all that comes a certain responsibility to think about what is truly important in life and to define that for oneself. For that I am grateful because I know…

People are more important then anything on this earth…

And you know what I am most thankful for???

Just being ALIVE!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Cheers,
Jeremy
