Your Capacity is Low Because Your Devotion is Thin

This idea is stolen. It is not mine. However, it is not new. It is old wisdom. You have heard it before…

“You get out what you put in”

“A laser is powerful because it is focused”

“You have to sow before you can reap”

“You have to give more to get more”

“Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration”

“I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have

“(Fill in the blank)”

These are all stolen ideas. Sayings of different, yet related things. Your capacity is low because your devotion is thin. If you want to accomplish anything in life you have to be devoted to it. No great cause is led without great devotion. Nothing great is accomplished without great devotion. These great stolen ideas can apply to any endeavor, and it would be great if you could steal them for your own use as well…

Now let’s flip the title around. The opposite would be that your capacity is high because your devotion is thick.  So…, if you want to have a high capacity to do something… thicken your devotion to it… in whatever way you can…

  1. Hi Sarah,

lol. Thanks! Even though I didn’t use the name, I owe a lot to you for helping me think through how I was going to put this all together. I am truly thankful for you taking the time to listen to me. 😉

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

  2. I think some people just want their dreams to come true automatically. They don’t really want to work at it and be devoted. Like if they have on failure they quit. That’s not really being devoted to it huh. I think to accomplish anything no matter what it is we need to have full devotion, like put our all into it as well as all our trust in God at the same time. I don’t think many people want to put that much effort into things.

  3. Hi Jenn,

I think your first sentence is a funny statement but I know people really do think that way. Dreams dont come true without a lot of work. Luck may be involved but remember what Thomas Jefferson said, “I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have”

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

  4. Jenn I think you are totally right, so many people want their dreams to come true but all the while they are sitting on their couch doing nothing. It can be annoying, DO SOMETHING, well besides whining, be productive. Great blog and great post! subscribed!
