When a day does not go according to plan, I work at not reprimanding myself but thinking in terms of how could I have done it better to fit my needs and wants? Today is too much snow so no weight lifting and swimming...blood pressure is on the creep up...so I now know dancing in the living room works up a sweat but it is not good enough on a regular basis and I need to do all the other parts - it is all part of the package of living and the journey of doing it well...to meet my needs. I also have to be honest with myself...down to the bare bones honest, but justifying and making things excusable does not do me any good.

So tonight will be grilled pumpkin and applesauce, green salad, and a small tofu drink to balance the smaller exercise routine - pumpkin brings down one's blood sugar levels...I can moderate my plan and try something new.

Very good post and nice writing. I appreciated reading every word and feel encouraged by what you have to share. Thank you

Hi Kent,

I totally agree. A wise man walks the thin line. The line of moderation and avoiding all extremes.

Cheers,

I know you have mentioned or at least implied this in your health posts this week but the virtue of moderation can never be underestimated.

Like any of the greatest of virtues, moderation applies to all areas of our lives, such as health and personal finance, to name a few...

And, as you might expect me to say, everything goes back to self-knowledge...

"Moderation, which consists in indifference about little things, and in a prudent and well-proportioned zeal about things of importance, can proceed from nothing but true knowledge, which has its foundation in self-acquaintance." ~ Plato
