I also take the approach of writing down my priorities, sorting them and isolating short term, as well as, long term goals. Making a written list is helpful in several ways.
Firstly, it makes me take the time to actually consider each and give it a priority rating.
Secondly, going through that process helps me to create a better balance because I take note of those items I have been letting "slide".
Thirdly, it helps me commit to achieving both short and long term goals.
Lastly, making my priority list and sticking to it gives me an opportunity to refer to it again and again to see the progress I'm making and to celebrate the fact that I'm managing my time better every day.
Thanks for this post. It validates me.

Great point Jeremy - writing things down makes them more "real" - in our minds.

And I love the Victor Hugo quote you have here, also.

Good stuff for a Saturday morning...

Nice way to emphasize priorities and helping us realize what ours are. The funny thing is, our priorities change over time. Isn't that strange? I guess it makes sense. We get older, think more about things in life and what they mean to us...

Great post!

*smiles*

Great article Jeremy. A short and sweet reminder about the importance of our priorities, and how our choices with regards to them subtly shapes the course of our lives.

Thanks for the article!
