You're most welcome, Jeremy! And... I just realized the first two sentences in my second paragraph came out a wee bit crazy! hehehe I think I was editing or something and didn't finish fixing it so it was written correctly. Oh well!

:-)

Michele

P.S. And thanks for calling me an inspiring voice - that made my day!

@ Gary and Michele - Thank you both for visiting and being an inspiring voice in a sea of not so useful blogs.

@ Kent - Thank you so much for visiting and commenting. Thank you for those addition thoughts, especially the first one.

The book of Ecclesiastes says that there really is nothing new under the sun.

There is another great writer who said that all thoughts are stolen, but a great writer knows how to hide the source. Ill give someone a cookie if they can tell me who said that one. ;-)

There are many great comments here but I will add two thoughts:

1. There is no such thing as original thought.

2. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

You have a useful and informative site here. Thanks for your thoughts...

"All truly wise thoughts have been thought already thousands of times; but to make them truly ours, we must think them over again honestly, till they take root in our personal experience." ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I call that "credit" link love, Jeremy. I give lots of it on my blog! I think it's great to bounce ideas off of and inspire one another. It forms a close blogging community if done correctly. :-)

As for following through on things we say we're going to do. Sometimes it happens - although I try to make sure it doesn't! I'm a gal of my word. If I ever don't follow through it's because I try to help too many people at one time! (Makes note to self to stop doing that.)

@Stubsy - Thanks for commenting. As for saying one thing and doing another, I would say concentrate this next month on not making any new promises and simply keep up with what you already said you would do.

@Barbara - Thanks for taking the time to comment. We are definitely on the same page. I truly believe in the link love concept. Your site is pretty good. I have your RSS Feed. Keep up the great work!

Cheers,
Jeremy

Giving credit where credit is due is very important. I think with bloggers, they are so worried about losing readers, subscribers and traffic that it causes many to be on the defense.

The reality of that though is the fact that doing this also weakens your blog from providing resourceful information. Consider Google for example. They don't hoard all the links and traffic. People go to Google to find things.

If Google didn't link out, then no one would use Google. So, the same goes with a blog. When an author covers a story or provides a tutorial, etc... they have to link to the source of information. Otherwise, they fail to provide their readers with the best information available.

Thanks for writing this post, and also thanks for including my post as a reference in it. I really enjoyed reading it and how you expanded from it.

Hi Jeremy - Yes, giving credit where credit is due is important, and often something we can overlook. I think as long as we keep it in the back of our minds as we post, we'll at least have a mental check list, of sorts.

I've read Sara's and Jack's great blogs, but haven't been on Gary's or Matt's. Thanks for the heads up.

Kudos to you for also showcasing your new (blog) finds. You and I are on the same page. :)
